Music Cafe • A Beautiful Suicide

In 1947, LIFE magazine published a full page photo of 23 year old Evelyn McHale, a young woman who mysteriously jumped from the 86th floor observatory of the Empire State Building. They called it The Most Beautiful Suicide. I first saw the picture when I was about 10 years old and never forgot it. I recently saw it again and it brought back memories.
