This post is for any devs interested in AI music generation with MIDI. Over the past two years, we've been developing large-scale and high-quality datasets for training AI music models. We're currently seeking research collaboration with software developers, sound labels, and content creators for evaluation.
Our pre-trained transformer models focus on detailed drumming and percussion grooves, while melody generation is still under development. The drum models are trained to GM1 key map specifications, spanning over 30 subgenres with featured grooves.
For developers of software and sampler instruments, we may be interested in training a custom model and providing bulk generations to you, provided it meets our research specifications. The model outputs can be used for commercial purposes, like software datasets or free MIDI libraries. Furthermore, later this year we’re planning to grant collaborators with early access to large MIDI datasets for training and experimenting on their own models.
As for sound labels and content creators, we have a similar program giving access to free MIDI generations. Moreover, we’re also providing startup assistance and production tools for those interested in developing large MIDI datasets of their own content.
